Privacy Policy

Effective date: 9 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Chettuva Fresh Fish Products (“Chettuva”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit chettuva.com, create an account, place an order or contact us.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Identity and contact information, such as your name, email address and mobile number.
  • Order and delivery information, such as your billing address, shipping address, PIN code and order notes.
  • Account information, including your registered mobile number and account activity. One-time passwords may be used to authenticate your account.
  • Customer-service information, including messages, complaints, photographs or videos you send about an order.
  • Communication preferences, including any choice to receive promotional updates.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage information, such as browser type, internet protocol address, pages viewed, referral source, approximate location based on network data and timestamps.
  • Cookie and similar-technology data used to keep the cart and checkout working, maintain sessions, remember choices, detect abuse and understand site performance.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Razorpay and the payment method providers made available at checkout. Chettuva receives transaction status, payment reference and limited billing information needed to confirm and reconcile an order. We do not receive or store your complete card number, card security code, bank login credentials or UPI PIN.

2. How we use information

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate sign-ins.
  • To accept, process, pack, dispatch, deliver and track orders.
  • To process payments, refunds, cancellations and accounting records.
  • To send order confirmations, delivery updates, support messages and important service notices by email, phone, SMS or WhatsApp where available.
  • To answer questions, investigate complaints and prevent fraud, spam, misuse or security incidents.
  • To operate, troubleshoot, secure and improve the website and customer experience.
  • To meet tax, food-safety, consumer-protection, record-keeping and other legal obligations.
  • To send marketing messages only where permitted. You may opt out of marketing at any time; transactional messages about an existing order may still be sent.

3. When we share information

We share personal information only when reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including with:

  • Payment processors, banks and payment networks that process or verify a transaction.
  • Courier, logistics and shipment-tracking providers that need delivery details to fulfil an order.
  • Website hosting, ecommerce, authentication, email, analytics, security and customer-support service providers acting for us.
  • Professional advisers, insurers, auditors, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is required or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety or legal interests.
  • A successor or proposed successor if the business is reorganised, transferred or sold, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements.

We do not sell personal information for money.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses essential cookies for functions such as the shopping cart, checkout, account sessions, security and fraud prevention. It may also use preference or measurement cookies to understand how the site performs. You can control cookies through your browser, but blocking essential cookies may prevent the cart, checkout or account features from working correctly.

5. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to complete the purposes described in this Policy, maintain transaction and tax records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymise or securely isolate it, as appropriate.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These include encrypted website connections, controlled administrative access, account authentication and security monitoring. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law and identity verification, you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold personal information about you and explain how it is used;
  • correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • delete information that is no longer needed, unless retention is required by law or for a legitimate purpose;
  • withdraw consent for optional processing or opt out of marketing communications; and
  • review and resolve a privacy-related grievance.

Send a request to chettuva@hotmail.com from the email address connected to your order or account. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already completed lawfully and may prevent us from providing a feature that depends on that information.

8. Children’s privacy

The website is intended for adults who can enter into a valid purchase contract. We do not knowingly invite children to create accounts or place orders. A parent or lawful guardian who believes a child has provided personal information should contact us so we can review the matter.

9. External services and links

The website may connect to payment, delivery, social-media or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. We encourage you to review those notices before providing information directly to them.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, technology or our services. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or available contact channels.
